There are two (2) distinct types of counseling Ministries in Tesano Baptist Church. These are Marriage Counseling and New Member Counseling. 

The New Member Counseling Ministry, which is generally called “The Counseling Ministry” is grounded on the main theme of Tesano Baptist Church which is “Christ We Proclaim…” – Col 1:28

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

In order to proclaim Christ as He commissioned us to do, our aims and objectives are guided by the statement of the Great Commission as outlined in Matthew 28:18-20 which reads; ‘Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”’ – Matthew 28:18-20 (NIV)

Therefore we do three main things in the Counseling Ministry: 
1. Make Disciples 
2. Baptize Them 
3. Teach Them

Our mandate covers both new member counseling, and general counseling needs. In very special cases, we refer the counselee to the appropriate authorities like; Pastors, Deacons, Prayer Force, Marriage Counselors, etc.

The main functions we undertake in The Counseling Ministry are categorized into 2 broad groups namely; 
1.Salvation, Assurance of Salvation and General Counseling (also called “Pulpit Counseling”) 
2.Teaching in the Baptism and Christian Maturity Classes

PROGRAMS 
The counseling ministry, among other things, undertakes the following programs: 
1. Preparation and Baptism of new believers 
2. Organization of New Members Retreats 
3. Organization of Counseling training programs for members who have the desire 
4. Organization of Counselor Retreats
5. Honoring of invitations to attend programs to counsel people

MEMBERSHIP 
Prerequisites: 
The most important qualification needed is, “YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN!” 
The next requirement is to be a Member of Tesano Baptist Church (you cannot be a member without being born again!) 
Once you are a born again member of TBC, you can come to our office (opposite Teens Chapel, First Floor) and submit your contact information and join. You can also talk to any counselor you know and they will help you to join.
